A Mother’s Love
As we approach Mother’s Day 2012, it brings to mind my plight 3 decades ago for the right as a Mother to raise my daughter in a morally and safe environment for a child. A Mother’s natural instincts are that of a ferocious bear protecting her cubs. And I – all those many years ago – was doing and fighting for what I thought was best for my daughter. There are those stories of a Mother lifting a car off of her child that had been pinned down. A Mother’s strength can be supernatural when it comes to the well being of her child. Today, I am filled with so much gratitude. And first on my list is the honor of having my Mother’s Love and that my Mom is healthy and still here with me here on earth.
My story of my custody battle for my daughter Anansa, that I’ve shared with you all through Beverly’s Full House pales in comparison to so many Motherless children. This Mother’s Day my reflections and prayers will not only include my Mother, Daughter and Granddaughter, but I will pray and be mindful of all those who won’t be able to share this day with their Mothers. For there is no greater love than God’s Love and a Mother’s Love.
