The Beverly Johnson Luxurious Lifestyle Brand

In 1978, I was asked by Harper’s Bazaar what I wanted from my modeling career, I answered, “I want to be a Brand.” Let me give myself a pat on the back here, all you hear today is “so and so is a brand.” and “I’m building my brand”, etc. In 1978, very few celebrities were Brands. If you were an actor, you represented the movie or the studio; if you were a singer, you represented the record label; there weren’t any reality stars; there weren’t any celebrities; there were stars and a few, if any could, even historically, be considered a Brand. I was a model, the biggest in the world at that point, and I represented whatever company I was modeling for.

After many years of hard work traveling the globe modeling, doing editorial photo shoots for magazines, doing major campaign ads for large multinational corporations, doing runways fashion shows, being on over 500 covers of high fashion magazines and a lot more, I became a Brand.

The Beverly Johnson Signature Eyewear Line was in the Sears Optical Departments in all of Sears’ stores nationally. I had this Brand for over a decade and it was a major success for Sears and for me.

The next Brand was The Beverly Johnson Hair Collection, which included wigs, hair extensions and other hair products for Amekor Industries. I had the opportunity for the last 14 years of being the face and name of Amekor, one of the leading wig and hair extension companies in the United States. The Beverly Johnson Hair Collection was astoundingly successful for Amekor and for me.

These two major Brand successes cemented my position in the global lifestyle market as a viable and successful Brand, a Brand to be reckoned with. Now it was time to make the ultimate leap of faith and I decided to create, manufacture, and distribute my own line of products instead of endorsing someone else’s.

I am realizing my dream of being a true “Modelpreneur,” a Supermodel and an entrepreneur, by owning and manufacturing the products I love under my new company, Beverly Johnson Enterprises. I decided it was time for me to create by own destiny. And the Beverly Johnson Luxurious Lifestyle Brand was born.

In February 2012, I will be launching the Beverly Johnson Hair Care Products, as well as, the Beverly Johnson Hair Products at TARGET. These are the initial products of The Beverly Johnson Luxurious Lifestyle Brand.

I had always been the girl on the box, now I own the box and what’s in it. A “Dream” come true. That’s the biggest reason the Target launch is so important to me.

One thing I know very well is that without you there is no Beverly Johnson Brand, this Brand is for You!

Through my products I want you to make yourselves and your lives as Beautiful as they can be. “Think Beauty.”
